Leaving on Sunday is a retro-modern rock/pop project from songwriter, producer, and guitarist Robby Lochner and (Rob Halford's Fight, Eddie Money, Spencer Davis Jack Russell's Great White) vocalist/songwriter Eric Palacio built on timeless melodies, emotional honesty, and hook-driven songwriting.
Blending the melodic spirit of The Beatles, the punch and swagger of Cheap Trick, and the dynamic edge of Panic! at the Disco, Leaving on Sunday delivers songs that feel both classic and current driven by strong choruses, guitar energy, and a focus on songs that last.
The project traces back to Torrance, California, where Robby an established touring guitarist, producer, and mix engineer, first met Eric as a 12-year-old guitar student. What began as lessons quickly evolved into songwriting sessions, demos, and a creative partnership rooted in instinct and melody. Over time, they built a catalog of songs that, for years, remained unreleased.
Now, those recordings are finally being brought to life alongside a growing body of new material. Launching with the debut single “Money,” Leaving on Sunday is rolling out a steady stream of releases one single every six weeks turning a long-standing creative connection into a fully realized project.
With a sound grounded in classic songwriting and a forward-moving release strategy, Leaving on Sunday is not revisiting the past, it’s building something that continues to evolve.
